When Gabrielle Hamilton was asked how to make motherhood and being a chef work, she responded: “You have to own the restaurant.” We saw women discuss entrepreneurship, fame, success, balance, motherhood, ownership and so much more. What we loved was the sense of community and the willingness to talk, share and get to know one another. What we took away from the whole experience was that women are building an incredible new working world — one that bends to their needs, one that offers them continuous support and one that inspires the people around them. It seems the paradigm is shifting — every single woman who stepped onto stage had started their own (successful) company. Rather than try to fit into a system that doesn’t seem to be changing, they’re creating their own.
